An older city inside a city

Forest Acres is its own municipality surrounded by Columbia, and the housing stock shows it: established lots, real tree canopy, and a lot of yards where the irrigation and drainage date to the original build. Our work here leans heavily toward fixing and upgrading rather than starting from scratch.

Water is the recurring theme

Much of Forest Acres drains into the Gills Creek watershed, which is exactly the system that made headlines during the October 2015 floods. You do not need a hundred-year storm to see the effect on a single property: sheet flow off the street, water stacking up at the low corner of a lot, mature roots and compacted clay leaving nowhere for it to go. Mature hardwoods are the best thing about these lots and the most expensive thing to get wrong. We handle ANSI A300 pruning, deadwooding, and roof clearance, plus removals, stump grinding, and cabling and bracing for old trees with split unions. Declining canopies get a tree health assessment before anyone quotes a removal.
